Quilting on my mind …. always …

My mind runs at a million miles an hour …. It’s always about quilting (and travel, but I can’t do that all the time)… designing quilts, making quilts, quilting quilts and teaching people about quilts.

In my studio right now I’m working on a clients interesting custom quilt that I’ve been given free reign on… there may be octopi involved … lol

On my design wall is my Sydney show quilt that I’m working feverishly to get finished… I thought this might be the year that actually get it finished with plenty of time to spare… but unfortunately I lost a month because of a car accident… we’re all ok but the car didn’t fair so well….

And in a total squirrel moment today, cause I don’t have enough on my plate, I pulled fabric for my next quilt. In my defense it is for an upcoming magazine project so it’s completely legit….

Until next time

Newcastle Craft Alive Show

After many days of preparation, today was the first day of the Newcastle Craft Alive Show. This is my first SOLO stand at a show…. it’s very exciting! I had some great friends working my stand with me. Thanks to Rachael, Laura and Emma for putting up with my scatterbrain. I am a Bernina Longarm Dealer so I have 2 gorgeous machines on the stand. I also have a bunch of my quilts for sale. There’s a bit of fabric and heaps of laughter 😁 It was great meeting loads of quilty people and catching up with old friends.

We’ll be back to do it all again tomorrow

Pine Burr Blocks/ Circles

I see these gorgeous blocks on my Unicorn wall quilt every time I walk through to my studio…. they make me happy 😆

They are so much fun to make and great to use up lots of fabric bits ….

My friend Rachaeldaisy teaches this technique all over the place. If you get a chance to take one of her classes you’ll learn heaps….

A Huge Week ….

After the craziness of the Sydney Stitches and Craft show, I spent all last week picking up and delivering beautiful Bernina Q20 quilting machines. ….

My truck was full to the brim…. not once but twice !!!!

There are some very happy people right now!

Now to clean up this mess …. !!!

The Explorer. ..

I had the great pleasure to join forces with the lovely Michelle Marvig to create this gorgeous quilt “The Explorer “. Michelle perfectly pieced the quilt top and I got to do my thing and quilt it to death with custom quilting.

I had loads of fun. There is tons of ruler work with both straight and curved rulers. I only used two fill designs, swirls and back & forth straight lines.

It is such a bold, bright quilt I didn’t want to take away from the design so I used matching thread and used designs to enhance the quilt.
